The week of choir concerts and fainting choristers
I have never seen anyone faint before.
This has changed over the past week. Here's a blow by blow, with significant concerts mentioned, and detailed accounts of fainting.
Sunday– SCC "And all the bells on earth did ring" in Seattle: No faintings, although in one of our songs, our oboist did not give us the right note and we had to stop and start again. Very embarassing.
Tuesday– SW Aeolian sings "Messiah" Highlights with Chamber Orchestra: On the last note of the Hallelujah Chorus (incidentally our program closer) a bass fainted and tumbled down to land between two very surprised violinists.
Wednesday– Calvary Kid's musical. Thankfully no fainting, although one angel was a little late to get her wings on, and a myriad of kids were seen waving at their parents from onstage.
Thursday– SW Aeolian sings "Messiah" (this time at the choir concert): No faintings, and we sing it better than ever before. Thank goddness. (And b/c of power loss, no school the next day!)
Friday– SCC Arioso at "The lights of Christmas" in Warm Beach: One intermediate chorus member fainted during "Deck the Halls." Another Arioso member went down during "Silent Night," like so... "Sleep in (Thud) heavenly peace." The next set, the boy next to me looked pale and sat down mid-set, later leaving the stage. He did not faint. (I don't know what i would have done if he had)

But boy, they were sure dropping like flies this week.
