Time won't do the talking-- I will.
I get a lot of flak from my sister sometimes. Today she said something along the lines of “Hahahahaha! (I had just made a face at her and we had both erupted into laughter). But it is too bad you aren’t that funny.” I stared at her. She continued "You can’t make jokes.” Well, I already knew that and said so. She said something about how someone at school thought she was funny… and so goaded, I said “Yeah, well, why did the chicken cross… um, Emma’s brain? Because there… er, were no people in there!”
I laughed.
(Because of the general hilarity of the situation
and also because
my jokes
crack
me
up.)
Meanwhile, back at the dinner table, my mom repeated what I had just said in disbelief. My dad figuratively scratched his head. Rebekah kind of giggled. Emma, while trying to figure out if I had just made an oblique insult to her intelligence, said “Ha! See what I told you?” General Consensus:I should stop making up weird “jokes” off the top of my head.
