Girl talk
I like to listen to girl talk.
I never have been really girly. I never wear makeup, except for jazz choir concerts. I never do anything to my hair but wash it and braid it. I never buy clothes or shoes. I loathe heels, really anything besides my rather ugly and well-worn tennis shoes. I can’t even bear wearing my hair down much.
So when I listen to my friends speak of hair and face products and shopping and sales, it is intriguing. It is like a glimpse of a different country, a different language.
I feel ok about this, because they are my friends and, just maybe, I live a little vicariously through them and their cuteness. My friends are all very cute, and I like to listen to them.
