Keane, and other stuff too.

"where love is just a lyric in a children's rhyme"
-Keane
I really like this cd. I'll expound a little: it is a more sophisticated sound then the first Keane album, evidencing what is, to my mind, positive musical and lyrical growth.
I watched Star Wars II: Attack of the Clones (Such an inadequate title) last night, on a random and enjoyable impulse. Mondo fun, let me tell you. There is nothing like announcing every scene thus:
Lauren: Emma look! This is the epic Anakin-kills-all-the-Tuscan-Raiders scene!
Emma: Idiot! I want to kick his face!
Lauren: (says line, with great feeling, before Anakin does) "I killed them all." Anakin said that with a murderous glint in his eyes, Em. (Pauses, watches some more) Look, Padme is comforting him.
Emma: (deprecating) Yeah, then she totally goes and marries him.
Lauren: (agreeing) She is SO STUPID!
But my favorite line of the night–
Lauren: (after Anakin's arm gets cut off; musingly). Lightsabers make a clean cut. They also cauterize the wound, which prevents infection. Which is why it is better to have your arm cut off by lightsaber than by a regular sword. In case you ever have a choice.
And now for something completely different... I'm in a summer choir (big surprise there, right?) and we perform on Sunday night at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lynwood. This is your invitation to come.
And yes, Whistler was great... but "You better put it behind you now" (Keane) it is time for the forward march!
